Royal Interrogation

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting for a bit Kyle and I have been busy and we have an announcement. Recently we 'met' our goal of developing this blog through the summer with our little prompts and short stories. Now we want to change things up and focus on writing the things we want instead of forcing prompts on each other. So expect to see a lot more of continuos stories. Also we might be playing around with posting schedule and other things to bring a new life to the blog not like it was that old anyways. Anyways here is a continuation of Royalty, previous post here: http://nakedlysane.blogspot.com/2014/07/royalty-continued.html. I really should learn to embed things....

The now brooding Mr. Fields sat across the aluminum table from me. I had successfully gotten myself handcuffed to the chair I was sitting in, the restraints were tight and uncomfortable cues of Fields passive aggressive nature at the moment. He was flipping through a file, my file, trying to find something he can use. To bad I have more on him than he has on me, besides the whole he can sentence me for murder bit. It would be a grave error in putting someone in jail for something they didn’t commit. However it is not like it hasn’t happened before. I just need to make sure it doesn’t happen to me. Amber just has to prove that there is serious doubt to the accusation, not that hard I think.
“This seems like a pretty open and shut case.” Fields finally spoke up, not exactly what I wanted to hear. “You killed Mr. Connor with a syringe using your party as a cover up. What is better than having fifty other people as your alibies? To bad that is where you messed up. He was found dead not to far from your home and you even stated that you were the last one to see him alive. Now is the time to come clean and stop wasting police time and resources.”
“Why would I do that when I am innocent?” I reply, knowing full well he was lying out his ass on this. Why else would it take him so long to figure out what he was going to say?
“Come on Mr. Royal, you look like a reasonable guy even if you have made it very difficult for me and my other police officers. Everyone says they are innocent, we couldn’t convict anyone if we believed every lie we are told.” Mr. Fields struggled to reason with me.
“First of all it is doctor. I have said it so many times since I have been here. How hard is it to say? Second it’s funny that you mention lying when you are lying to me right now. Since you said I had fifty other alibies because of the party it stand to say that there are also fifty other suspects anyone at the part could have seen him recognized him and killed him. Not me.”
True surprise crossed Mr. Fields face. How could I know that? How could I not know that? I can read his face like a book. I just hope he actually believes me.
“No, I think you killed him. Why else would we have found the evidence in your house?” The detective obviously ignored my statement.
“Haven’t you heard of planted evidence? If you were a killer wouldn’t it be better to pin it on someone else than just having an alibi? Why would I just leave the evidence in my house for someone to find?”
“I don’t know doctor maybe you don’t really deserve that title anymore. For someone claiming to be so smart you obviously are messed up enough to commit murder.” Fields stuck to his story like glue.

“Maybe you don’t deserve to be a detective Mr. Fields. You go with the obvious and easy answers instead of the truth. Maybe you should do some thinking of your own. You want this to be easy, it isn’t. Do your job and find the real killer.” I said at almost wits end. I would have said more but the door opened silencing the detective and I. It was Amber; she took one look at me and closed the door. I could hear her laugh from the other side. I almost forgot that I was still just wearing a robe.  She is never going to let me down for this. Damn it.

Royalty continued

Well hello guys today is a continuation of a project I have been working on. The first part is here: http://nakedlysane.blogspot.com/2014/06/friday-special-royalty.html . Anyways it just about how my character copes with being in jail and about to questioned while waiting for his savior of a lawyer. I tried to write a little bit longer to give y'all a bit more to read. So I hope you enjoy it.

I sat there in the cell still in my robe thinking. It is all I could do while I waited for Amber. Everything swirled around my head and I needed to straiten them out somehow. So the syringe was used to kill Neil, the officers provided that information voluntarily. The prescription drugs had to be the cause and who ever killed him decided to pin it on me. Who would want me out of the way? I may not be the most lovable psychologist but I tried to not step on many toes. My clientele might be extravagant but they wouldn’t be vindictive enough to frame me or even know of Neil, client confidentiality and all that.  Well someone at the party had to frame me and therefore had to be the killer.
I struggled like an underdog against the heavy weight champ to remember anything that happened last night and only ended up making my head hurt even more. I came up empty handed it looked like my only chance was to start my own investigation and clear my name. Easier said than done behind steel bars that so happened to clank as a voice came from behind them.
“Hey, Mr. fancy-pant-less, it’s time to move.”
Moving out the now open cell door, I couldn’t help but reply, “Nice one did you come up with that or—“ I was cut off by a solid punch to the side. Writhing in pain I attempted to keep my footing while looking for sympathy in any of the other guards, the only one who ended up caring was the convict next-door, “Did you see that? Assault and abuse. What ever happened to prisoner’s rights?”
“You gave up that right when you killed an innocent man you psychopath.” The guard said coldly as he pulled me along.
“It is sociopath and a high functioning one at that, shouldn’t you know the difference?” My mouth just wouldn’t shut up. Thank god the cop decided to ignore me this time, perhaps it was that cute female cop we passed going down the stairs. We approached what I figured was the questioning room.  Amber wouldn’t be here for another twenty minutes. I had to stall. “You know she may like you but isn’t inter-office romance frowned upon?” I blurted out.
“How did you know that?” he stood bewildered.
“I have my ways, and if it is any consolation and just to show we have no hard feeling between us I’ll give you a tip.” I had him, “Get her some new ear rings, nothing to flashy or dangly but definitely nice.”
I watched as he stammered for a moment and looked questioningly at me. “How did you know that I was going to give it to her a pair for her birthday next week… This is unreal.” He was lost for words; it brought a smile to my face. After a moment the cop spoke up, “Know what. Get in there freak.” He pushed me inside and slammed the door shut.
I was ‘alone’ I say that because of course someone was behind the one-way glass. So I did the only sensible thing in the situation I checked myself out. Made sure my hair was perfectly messy just like I got out of bed and had the worst day of my life.  I posed with my robe, opening and closing it to try out different styles. Really all I was doing was goofing off but ‘they’ didn’t know that. If I were guilty I would show it some how, by acting nonchalant it may work in my favor. I have nothing to hide. Satisfied with what I had to work with I decided leave it as it was because there is no improvement on disgrace.
I ended up just sitting in the chair to my back to the mirror. A smug grin grew on my face. I checked my handcuffs that restrained my movement just to focus on something. I could pick the lock, easy but I don’t have the right tools at the moment. My focus was shaken by the entrance of someone new, he had a suit on so I would guess a detective who was chosen for my case. So I needed all the information I could get. Focusing in I found that he was missing his wedding ring, an uneven tan, and his posture was ridged more so than any cop in this station. His hair was short and slicked back, I assumed military a man never forgets but you never know.  However I did know what he would say first.
“That is my seat.” He said in a stern voice like I am some dog at his command.
“Oh? I didn’t realize we had assigned seating. I just thought it was first come first serve.” I could see the animosity creep in on his face, he could deal with drug addicts and thugs but not me. I made the first move slowly getting up I feigned surrender as best I could with my lack on movement in my arms. “I’m sorry honest mistake that grunt of yours clearly doesn’t know how to give instructions.” The words just seemingly flowed out of my mouth like water while I concentrated on reading the man in front of me. “Hi nice to meet you.  My name is Dr. Jack Royal, Psychiatrist.” I reached out my hands for a hand shake but he was unwavering, “Anything I can do for you? Did you want to talk about your service or maybe your wife?”

His eye flinched and his brow furrowed, maybe that wasn’t the best course of action. “The name is Detective Fields, now sit down and shut up before I do it for you.” He said as he motioned to my seat. He obviously wasn’t in the mood for games but I had only just begun to play with him. All I needed to do now was wait for Amber, who should be here shortly.

Love Doctor pt.2 the murder

Apologies for the late continuation post. It was hard figuring out where I wanted to go with it. Anyways this is a continuation on one of my more disturbing stories and it only gets worse. Take that as a warning. This is the first part of what will be another novel in what I hope to be a series about Dr.  Royal which I posted Friday. The first part is here: http://nakedlysane.blogspot.com/2014/05/love-doctor.html and please enjoy.

8:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 24th
Shelly walks into a cold dark doctors office. The cold is normal, the dark not so much. Dr. Underwood usually was here by now to open up, the door was unlocked so he had to be there. Shelly flipped the switch; the pale light blinded her for a moment. The disgustingly old green couch came into focus along with the shitty coffee table that had year old magazine subscriptions on top. Shelly walked past the depressing waiting room and through the door to the depressing clinic halls. No sign of Underwood.
“Maybe he is in his office,” Shelly says to herself. It was eerily quiet as Shelly opened the door. The ambient light from the computer screensaver only made vague shapes visible. A figure sat in the chair in the desk. “Dr. Underwood, why are you sitting here in dar…” Shelly asked flipping on the lights. Her breath caught short as the light filled the room. She couldn’t believe what was before her. Her former employer was slumped in his office chair. He was naked except for the dried blood covering most of his body and was restrained with rope. Shelly screamed.

8:30 a.m. I was called to the scene.
“Hey Dr. Royal, long time no see,” Snickered Detective Fields. “How is the lovely Ms. Knight doing?”
“Working to put criminals behind bars, like you should be.” I retorted.
It shut him up for a bit while he showed be to the office where Dr. Underwood was found. I knew already that Underwood was a Gynecologist, a bad one at that. Most doctors in this area talk to each other and rumors spread fast. However since he is in one of the poorer parts of town he gets away with a little more than he should. Even then he doesn’t deserve this. Walking in the first thing I notice in large red letters scrawled across the back wall was “SEXUAL DEVIANT.” Obviously someone was acting on a misplaced sense of justice. Ridding the world of undesirables. Next my eyes were drawn to the now dead Underwood. He was a bloody mess, cuts up and down his torso, some concentrated on his nipples. It seems he died from blood loss from a slit throat, but that isn’t the worst of it his family jewels had been cut off and thrown on to the floor. It was some piece of work and not something I had planned to see so early in the morning.
“So Doc,” Fields spoke up. “What do you think for your first real case for the Newport Police?”
I swallowed whatever saliva remained in my open mouth. “Someone definitely wanted Dr. Underwood dead,” the words finally coming from my mouth, “and made sure he suffered well before that happened. This was definitely planed and I doubt you will find finger prints anywhere of use.”
“Why do you say that?” asked the inspector.
“Well this is a doctors office how hard is it to go over to the wall and pull out some damn gloves.” I say as I begin to pull some out for myself. Although I didn’t really want to inspect the foul body any closer I needed clues. So I get behind the dead man, no trauma to the head. I look in the trash and find gauze, taking a slight whiff that confirms it as chloroform. That answers how he was stripped and restrained without much of a fight. Next point of business was to see what was last on the computer. Pressing the space key the screen comes to life instantly, displaying a video of the doctor giving his patient an exam. This was already very damning evidence but it didn’t end there with out warning muffed screams of a female orgasm erupted from the speakers. Everyone else turned away embarrassed.
“Well it looks like our dead friend here was a very perverted man indeed.” I say stopping the video just Underwood finishes and turns around smiles at the camera.
